The visit of the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia
On April 27-28, 2022, the delegation of the Agency for Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia headed by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Mr. Yuri Nozadze paid a two-day working visit to Tallinn. In the framework of the visit the meetings with the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment of Estonia Marku Lamp and the Director General of Environmental Board Rainer Vakra as well as other officials took place. Besides of official meetings the delegation from Georgia was acquainted with the natural values at the Lahemaa National Park and the Viru bog. A photo exhibition of Georgian national parks was opened in Lahemaa National Park’s visitor’s center.
Memorandum of Understanding was signed, in Palmse Manor house, between the Agency for Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and the Estonian Environmental Board on cooperation in management, research and conservation of parks and protected areas.
The memorandum of understanding marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Estonia and Georgia.
